Cognizant's subsidiary TriZetto has filed a lawsuit against Infosys in a US federal court, alleging that the Bengaluru-based company stole trade secrets and information related to its healthcare insurance software.
Infosys has denied the allegations and stated it will vigorously defend itself in court.
The lawsuit, filed in a Texas federal court, accuses Infosys of unlawfully accessing data from TriZetto’s software, Facets and QNXT, and using it to develop and market a competing product.
Cognizant, which offers these software solutions for automating tasks in healthcare insurance, claims Infosys misused TriZetto’s data to create a product called "Test Cases for Facets" and developed software to extract confidential data from QNXT.
This week, Cognizant appointed former Infosys executive Rajesh Varrier as its global head of operations and India Chairman and Managing Director, following Rajesh Nambiar’s resignation to become Nasscom president. Cognizant’s CEO Ravi Kumar S is also a former Infosys executive, having served as President there from January 2016 to October 2022.
