Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, exuded confidence that the NDA government will not only complete its term but also form the government in 2029, dismissing opposition concerns.
Addressing a gathering in Chandigarh, Shah praised the Modi government's achievements, citing successes in various fields, including national security, infrastructure development, and social welfare initiatives.
Lauding the Modi government for its works, he said, "I want to say that the 10 years from 2014 to 2024 will be inscribed in golden letters in the history of our country's development. I want to assure you (people) that let the opposition make a fuss, you do not worry. In 2029 also, the NDA will come (to power), (Narendra) Modi ji will come."
Shah emphasised the government's commitment to development, highlighting initiatives like Startup India, Digital India, and the Smart City mission, which have transformed the country into a manufacturing hub.
He criticized the opposition for creating uncertainty and underestimating the BJP's electoral success, noting that the party has more seats than the total number of seats held by the opposition alliance.
"They (opposition) feel that with some success, they have won elections. They do not know that the BJP won more seats in this election (2024 Lok Sabha poll) than the number of seats the Congress got in the past three elections... The BJP alone has more seats than the total number of seats which their whole alliance has," he said.
"I want to assure the opposition that not only will this government complete its five-year term, the next term will also be of this government. Be ready to sit in the opposition and learn to work effectively in the opposition," he added.
Shah also inaugurated the 24x7 Manimajra water supply project, which will benefit over one lakh residents, and praised former MP Kirron Kher for her efforts in bringing the project to fruition.
Additionally, Shah launched e-evidence, Nyay Setu, Nyay Shruti, and e-summon systems to enhance the criminal justice apparatus.
The Union Minister's remarks come as a strong assertion of the NDA's dominance and a rebuke to opposition parties questioning the government's strength.
