Schools in Haryana to remain closed on Oct 5 for polling

According to reports, more than two crores will exercise their right in this election and a total of 20,629 polling booths have been set up for the elections.

The Schools in Haryana will remain closed on October 5 for polling to be held for assembly elections in the state. Several schools have been designated as voting centres in the state therefore, will remain shut tomorrow. 

 

To prepare the educational buildings for polling, they were closed on October 4 as well.

 

The two-day closure applies to all government, semi-government and private schools in the state.

 

The state will see assembly elections in a single phase on October 5 from 7 AM to 6 PM. The results will be announced on October 8. 

 

The campaigning for elections ended on October 3 at 6 PM. 

 

All the major parties in the state, BJP, Congress, AAP, and JJP- Azad Samaj Party held their rallies and roadshows on Thursday as their last bid to appeal to voters in the election-bound state. 

 

According to reports, more than two crore voters will exercise their right in this election and a total of 20,629 polling booths have been set up for the elections. 

 

The incumbent BJP is looking for a third term in government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed four rallies in the state. PM Modi has attacked Congress and Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi for using all its resources to build their own family. He also said that the party is responsible for violence against Dalit, the Ayodhya Ram temple, MSP on crop and much more. 

 

The last day of campaigning witnessed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressing a public meeting in Nuh.

 

Gandhi said that Haryana was due for a “Congress storm” that would ensure policies for the poor and farmers. He also said that “mohabbat ki dukan” will be opened in every corner of the state. 

 

The area saw violence erupting last year after Vishwa Hindu Parishad was attacked by a mob.  

 

The violence led to the death of six people, including two home guards and a cleric.
