Passengers at both Chandigarh and Amritsar airports faced a lot of inconvenience on Thursday morning after a technical glitch in the check-in system disrupted flight operations. The malfunction led to major delays with several flights departing hours behind schedule.
IndiGo flights were the worst affected. By 11 am, seven flights scheduled to depart from Chandigarh were delayed, leading to long queues at the airport. The system failure threw the departure schedule into disarray, affecting several major flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna and Jaipur.
Several IndiGo flights were grounded due to technical issues at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar. A Mumbai-bound flight and two flights on the Delhi route failed to depart on time. Flights were also delayed on Wednesday night. The Amritsar-Srinagar flight could not take off, forcing passengers to seek alternative arrangements. The Amritsar-Pune flight, scheduled for 11:50 pm, departed at 4:56 am.
