In a bid to ensure clean and fair elections during the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Directorate of Income Tax (Investigation), Delhi, has established a 24X7 Control Room equipped with a toll-free mobile number to monitor suspicious movements of cash, bullion, and valuables within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.
The Control Room, situated at Room No. 17, Ground Floor, C-Block, Civic Centre, New Delhi, will remain operational throughout the Model Code of Conduct period in Delhi, starting from the announcement of the General Elections 2024 until the conclusion of the polls.
Residents of Delhi are encouraged to contribute to the electoral process by contacting the Toll-Free Number: 1800112300 or the toll-free mobile number: 9868168682, to report any suspicious activities related to the distribution or movement of unaccounted cash or valuables.
The Income Tax Department assures anonymity to informants, emphasizing that callers need not disclose personal details during their communication with the Control Room. The Department underscores the importance of credible and actionable information for effective monitoring.
"This initiative underscores our commitment to support the Election Commission of India in combating the influence of black money in elections," stated a representative of the Income Tax Department.
