Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has ordered immediate measures to prevent human deaths from elephant attacks, directing rapid response teams, trained elephants, community training, and timely compensation across conflict-prone districts.

Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday conveyed their greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, to be observed on Sunday.

"The security situation in the border areas has become sensitive and there is a possibility of cross-border firing at any time. Movement in the border areas is required to be restricted to ensure the utmost safety of villagers and prevent any anti-national activities," the order reads.

As per the complaint, the email contained a voice note allegedly sent by a foreign-based gangster demanding Ra 10 crore as extortion money, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Saurav Jindal said

Three CRPF CoBRA commandos and a civilian driver were killed after their car rammed into a stationary lorry on the Jagdalpur–Raipur highway in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district on Saturday morning, police said.

On February 14, 2019, 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and five others were injured in one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. A suicide bomber rammed his vehicle carrying more than 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.

A rescue team and local residents reached the spot near Jani village soon after the incident. They recovered the bodies from the gorge and rescued the injured person, officials said.

The country marked the seventh anniversary of the Pulwama attack on Saturday. In the 2019 incident, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into a CRPF bus that was part of a convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, killing 40 CRPF personnel.
