RBI Governor warns of hike in petrol and diesel prices

India is highly dependent on imports of energy and fertilisers, Malhotra said, adding that the current disruptions are beginning to impact India.

Amul has raised milk prices by Rs 2 per litre across India from May 14, citing higher production and operational costs amid rising inflation.

GCMMF, in a statement, said it has "increased the prices of fresh pouch milk by Rs 2 per litre in major milk selling variants/packs across India effective from May 14". The increase translates to about 2.5-3.5 per cent per litre, which is lower than the average food inflation, it added.

A Bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan today said that it was disturbing that less than 1 per cent of transport vehicles have vehicle location tracking devices.Such features could ensure the safety of passengers, particularly women, elderly and children, the Court pointed out. Disturbing part is less than 1 per cent of transport vehicles have vehicle location tracking device, the court observed.
