The Indian Army’s 515 Base Workshop has signed three MoUs with startups and institutions to strengthen indigenous drone manufacturing, AI systems, and security frameworks.

The ministry called for a 20 per cent reservation in positions such as forest guards, mining guards, police constables, firemen, mounted police, jail wardens, Special Police Officers, and the state disaster response force.

CDS General Anil Chauhan, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, General Upendra Dwivedi, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Chairman Samir Kamat, and others were also present at the meeting.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Harvey Smyth met with the Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, discussing how to enhance the operational co-operation between the two forces.

Navy said that the exercise aims at strengthening interoperability, cooperation, and maritime understanding among participating navies.

With indigenous content exceeding 75 per cent, the ship highlights the maturity of a domestic industrial ecosystem that now spans over 200 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), contributing to the Indian government’s ‘Aatmanirbharta’ initiatives and supporting thousands of Indian jobs.

The veterans, who served in senior ranks from Inspector General (IG) to Additional Director General (ADG), argued that the delay in implementing key judicial directives, along with the absence of structural reforms such as time-bound promotions and restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, is affecting the morale of personnel deployed in challenging and high-risk environments.

"For India's defence preparedness and strategic autonomy, it is essential that India becomes fully self-reliant in drone manufacturing," Singh added.

Lt Gen Sharma visited the Jhangar Battalion on the successful conduct of Operation Balliyan, wherein the alert troops successfully eliminated the infiltration attempt.

Indian Navy, US Navy, Japan Maritime Self‑Defense Force, Royal Australian Air Force, and Royal New Zealand Air Force are part of the two-week exercise.  

The exercise showcased seamless jointmanship, rapid response capabilities, and operational readiness through high-intensity day and night Special Heliborne Operations (SHBO).

The test was described by leader Kim Jong Un as a “very deadly yet attractive weapon.” He oversaw the launch personally, accompanied by his daughter, widely regarded as his likely successor.
