Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's helicopter was searched on Monday while he was headed for his Parliamentary constituency in Kerala's Wayanad to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections and hold public meetings.
The helicopter had just landed in Tamil Nadu's Nilgiris on its way to Wayanad when officials of the Election Commission's flying squad arrived to check it, a PTI report said.
At the Nilgiris, Gandhi interacted with students of a college and then travelled by road for a massive rally at Sulthan Bathery in Kerala where he waved to crowds sitting in an open-roof car.
He will be addressing a farmers' rally later in the day in Pulpally close by. It has a large population of farmers.
Congress workers have said that road shows have been also planned at Mananthavady, Vellamunda and Padinjarathara.
