Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Derek O'Brien has admitted that his party could have made mistakes in the Sandeshkhali case.

 

In an hour-long interview with a popular YouTube channel recently, O’Brien, however, criticised the BJP's attempts to tarnish his party’s reputation over Sandeshkhali, where a TMC leader was accused of grabbing land and harassing women.

 

What about accountability and transparency, he asked, questioning the Central government about what he alleged was corruption and the misuse of government institutions like ED, and CBI.

 

He said had reached out only to digital media for interviews and bypassed mainstream media.

 

During the interview, O'Brien said the “The digital media landscape has become immensely important, as legacy media has been busy projecting  and establishing BJP’s narrative and even at times rewriting historical scripts.”
