A high-level Election Commission team, led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, arrived in Chandigarh on Monday for a two-day visit to Haryana. The team's primary objective is to assess the state's poll preparedness ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, which are due later this year.
The team comprises key members, including Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu. During their visit, they will engage in a comprehensive review of election preparations, meeting with representatives of political parties, district election officers, and senior officers.
On Tuesday, the poll panel team will issue guidelines to enforcement agencies, emphasizing enhanced monitoring and vigilance across the state.
This move aims to ensure a free and fair electoral process. Furthermore, the commission will hold meetings with senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, administrative secretaries, and senior police officers, to review arrangements and ensure a seamless electoral process.
Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal welcomed the team on its arrival, marking the beginning of this crucial visit. The Election Commission's efforts demonstrate their commitment to conducting transparent and credible elections in Haryana.
