Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi today raised the issue of NEET paper leak in the parliament seeking a discussion on it.
He said a message was needed to be conveyed to the youth that both the government as well as the opposition was concerned about them as they were worried and anxious about their future.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha today, Gandhi said, “We want to give a joint message to the students of India, on behalf of the opposition and the government that we consider this an important issue”.
Later talking to reporters, he said, that yesterday, all the leaders of the opposition parties had a meeting and it was unanimously decided that today they will seek a discussion on the NEET issue.
“There should be a discussion on NEET here in the house”, he asserted, while urging the Prime Minister that this was an issue of the youth and it should be discussed properly and it should be a “respectful” discussion.
“A message should go from the Parliament that the Indian government and the opposition are talking about the students together”, Gandhi observed, while emphasizing the need for discussion in the parliament since the matter concerned the youth of the country, who were feeling anxious about their future.
He said it was important that the anxious youth get the message that both the opposition as well as the government was concerned about them.
