The Punjab government has made significant administrative changes by transferring four IAS officers who were serving as Deputy Commissioners in various districts. The transfers were announced through an official order issued by the Chief Secretary on Thursday.
Kulwant Singh, who was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Moga and also held the position of Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation in Moga, has now been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Mansa. He replaces Paramvir Singh, whose new posting will be decided later.
Vishesh Sarangal, who was the Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur, has been reassigned to Moga, where he will also serve as the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation.
This move leaves the position of Gurdaspur DC vacant, which will now be filled by Uma Shankar Gupta. Gupta, who previously served as the Director of Local Government, will take over from Sarangal in Gurdaspur.
Additionally, Rajesh Tripathi, who was the Additional Secretary in the Revenue and Rehabilitation Department and also held responsibilities as Director of Land Records, Settlement, Consolidation, and Land Acquisition in Jalandhar, has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Muktsar.
He replaces Harpreet Singh Sudan, whose next assignment is yet to be determined.
The posting orders for Paramvir Singh and Harpreet Singh Sudan will be issued at a later date. These transfers are seen as part of the government's efforts to streamline administration and ensure effective governance across Punjab.
