Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will be attending the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as prime minister on Sunday evening, sources close to him said.

 

An invite was sent to Kharge and Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi for the ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, PTI reported.

 

Sources close to Kharge said he would be attending the function.

 

Invites to the swearing-in ceremony were sent to INDIA bloc leaders at around 11 pm on Saturday, The New Indian Express quoted a senior Congress leader as saying.

 

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had earlier told reporters that the INDIA bloc leaders had not received any invitations to the event and would not be attending.
