Led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to establish a panel of spokespersons comprising representatives from its various constituent parties. This move aims to present a unified response on key issues, ensuring a cohesive message from the ruling alliance.
The idea was first proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a meeting with NDA MPs in the recent Parliament session.
Sources indicate that this arrangement may be implemented during the upcoming Budget session.
When asked if the NDA would appoint a convener, a position that existed previously but was not reinstated after the BJP's 2014 election victory, sources clarified that there are no plans for such a move at present.
Despite the BJP falling short of a majority in the recent Lok Sabha polls, the NDA alliance comfortably secured a majority.
The saffron party has emphasised the inclusive nature of the government, with several allies receiving Cabinet positions and the government being projected as an NDA entity.
