In a bid to conduct free and fair elections in the state, Haryana has demanded the deployment of 255 companies of the central forces. The elections on 90 assembly seats are scheduled for October 1.
Haryana's Chief Electoral Officer, Pankaj Agarwal, during a press conference, announced that the state has requested 225 companies of central forces, with 70 already allotted, to ensure a smooth electoral process for the upcoming polls.
The model code of conduct is now in effect.
Haryana has over 2.03 crore voters eligible to cast their ballots. This includes 1,07,14,565 male voters, 95,03,407 female voters, and 455 transgender voters. Additionally, 1,04,456 male and 4,748 female service voters will also participate in the elections.
The electorate also spans various age groups, with 2,42,818 voters aged 85 and above, and 9,554 voters aged 100 and above. The younger demographic is also well-represented, with 4,82,896 voters falling in the 18-19 age group, and over 40 lakh voters in the 20-29 age group.
