Heavy rains continue to pour in parts of Himachal Pradesh on Monday, leading to blockage of movement on 107 roads and disrupting 91 power schemes, officials said.
With this, Shimla Meteorological Department has issued a 'yellow alert' in isolated parts of the state till Wednesday and cautioned of the possibility of damage to plantations, crops, vulnerable structures, and kutcha houses.
Himachal Pradesh's rain-related disruptions have resulted in 126 fatalities, approximately Rs 1,173 crore loss, and a 22% rainfall deficit since June 27.
The state emergency operation centre reports 48 roads shut in Shimla, 24 each in Mandi and Kullu, and others in various districts, with 91 power and 36 water supply schemes disrupted.
Significant rainfall has been recorded in several areas, including Naina Devi (142.6 mm), Baijnath (120 mm), and Guler (78.4 mm), with other areas receiving substantial rainfall.
The rainfall data shows a varied distribution across the state, with temperatures ranging from 9.8°C in Kukumseri to 33.4°C in Una.
The state's rainfall deficit and disruptions highlight the impact of the monsoon season, with officials working to address the effects of the heavy rainfall.
