Punjab Police on Tuesday, arrested three individuals, busting another interstate weapon smuggling network, the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav stated.
The accused have been identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Mattu, Sahil Kumar alias Mast, and Prabhjot Singh alias Prabh, all residents of Amritsar. Preliminary investigations have revealed that two of the accused have a criminal history, including involvement in a murder case.
Acting on a tip-off, police launched an operation and apprehended the accused when they were waiting to deliver the consignment in the Vallah area. Investigations are ongoing to identify the weapon dealer in Madhya Pradesh and the intended recipients of the weapon consignment. Assistant Inspector General Amritsar Sukhminder Singh Mann is leading the investigation.
