In a shocking incident, Darbara Singh, an account clerk with the SGPC, was brutally murdered by Sukhbir Singh, a 'sewadar' (volunteer) at the committee.

 

The incident occurred at the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) office, located near the Golden Temple complex, on Saturday. 

 

According to officials, the altercation between the two men was sparked by a dispute over an unspecified issue. Sukhbir Singh allegedly assaulted Darbara Singh with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him critically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Darbara Singh succumbed to his injuries.

 

SGPC secretary Partap Singh revealed that the families of the victim and the accused had a prior acquaintance, adding a layer of complexity to the tragic incident. The motive behind the attack is still unclear, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
