The Tihar jail administration has stirred controversy by denying permission for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, to meet him on April 29, as reported by an AAP sources on Sunday.
The denial of this meeting has raised questions, with the Tihar authorities yet to provide a formal response.
According to sources within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sunita Kejriwal was scheduled to visit her husband on Monday, but the Tihar administration abruptly revoked the permission.
The denial, which was allegedly made without any clear justification, has left both the Kejriwal family and AAP supporters disheartened.
"The meeting, which was scheduled for tomorrow (Monday), has now been cancelled, leaving both the Kejriwal family and AAP supporters dismayed," stated the AAP in response to the sudden cancellation. As of now, the Tihar Jail administration has remained silent regarding the reasons behind their decision.
Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged excise scam, has been held in Tihar’s Jail No 2 under judicial custody.
Throughout his detention, Kejriwal has expressed a desire to meet specific individuals, providing a list of six people he wishes to see during his time in prison.
