The Meteorological Department in Shimla has issued a yellow alert, predicting heavy rains in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh from July 15 to July 21.
Intermittent rains have already lashed parts of the state since Sunday evening, with Sundernagar recording the highest rainfall at 36.8 mm, followed by Mandi, Pandoh, and other areas.
According to the state emergency operation centre, the monsoon season, which began on June 27, has already caused significant damage, with losses estimated at Rs 177 crores and 25 rain-related deaths reported so far.
The meteorological department has forecasted a wet spell in the state till July 21, with isolated areas expected to receive heavy rains. Residents and authorities are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
