Elon Musk, the CEO of social media platform X, announced on Wednesday plans to implement a "porn-free" experience for users who prefer to avoid adult and graphic content. This decision comes after the platform adjusted its policy earlier in the week to officially permit users to post such content.
Responding to a user query regarding the possibility of a "porn-free mode," Musk affirmed, "This is top priority," amidst global efforts by policymakers to regulate the dissemination of explicit content on social media platforms.
Acknowledging user concerns, Musk was urged to offer transparent options for those wishing to avoid encountering such content, particularly within comment threads.
Some users advocated for a complete ban on adult content, while X maintains that users are permitted to create, distribute, and consume material related to sexual themes, provided it is consensually produced and distributed.
Additionally, the platform's updated rules now extend to cover artificial intelligence-generated sexual videos and images.
