Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) announced that it has operationalized 126 MW wind power capacity in Gujarat.

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) on Thursday announced the operationalization of 126 MW of wind power capacity in Gujarat, completing a 300 MW project. This accomplishment follows the earlier operationalization of 174 MW, bringing the total to 300 MW.

AGEL disclosed this development in a regulatory filing, highlighting its continued commitment to bolstering India's renewable energy infrastructure.

According to the company's statement, the 300 MW wind project is expected to generate approximately 1,091 million electricity units annually, contributing significantly to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. AGEL estimates that the project will help avoid approximately 0.8 million tons of CO2 emissions annually, underlining its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

AGEL's latest project operationalization further solidifies its position as a leader in the renewable energy sector, with a robust portfolio totaling 9,604 MW of operational assets. These assets are strategically maintained and monitored through the Energy Network Operations Centre (ENOC), a cloud-based platform that enables real-time monitoring and utilizes advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms.

Commenting on the significance of wind energy in India's energy landscape, AGEL stated, "Wind energy is critical to India’s energy mix for grid balancing. The complementary nature of wind energy, integrated with solar and other sources, strengthens grid stability." Citing data from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, AGEL highlighted India's status as the fourth-largest wind energy market globally. The National Institute of Wind Energy has estimated India's gross wind power potential at significant levels, underscoring the immense opportunities in the sector.

AGEL is set for continued growth, with a locked-in trajectory of up to 21.8 Gigawatts (GW). Currently, the company operates a diverse renewable portfolio exceeding 9.5 GW, spread across 12 states in India. Aligning with India's ambitious decarbonization goals, AGEL has set a target of achieving 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, emphasizing its commitment to driving sustainable development and combating climate change.
