This revelation signals the emergence of a new breed of hardworking gig workers, foregoing traditional seasonal or part-time employment in favor of entrepreneurial self-employment.

 

The flexibility inherent in the gig economy has permeated various industries, fostering mutually beneficial relationships between employers and gig workers.

The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) is set to revolutionize recruitment and skill training in India, leveraging the country's burgeoning digital landscape with over 820 million internet users.

 

AI-powered platforms accessible through popular channels like WhatsApp and social media are streamlining job searches, matching gig workers with suitable roles, and providing tutorials to enhance their skills.

 

This technological advancement holds particular significance for internal economic migrants, empowering them to find jobs that align with their skills and preferences.

 

The government has launched several schemes to upskill blue-collar workers, including Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, and Craftsmen Training Scheme among others.
