BetterPlace, Asia’s leading SaaS and horizontal platform for frontline workforce management, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government’s Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The partnership is geared towards upskilling over 1 lakh frontline workers by the year 2025.

 

In a bid to foster gender diversity in the workforce, the company has announced its commitment to focusing on upskilling women through specially curated content, with a target of comprising a minimum of 25 percent of women workers in the new cohort.

 

Pravin Agarwala, Group CEO and Co-founder of BetterPlace, emphasized the company's dedication to enhancing opportunities and competencies for frontline workers in India. He outlined a four-step approach in collaboration with the UP Government, which includes identifying skill gaps, designing comprehensive training programs, evaluating program effectiveness, and facilitating job placements for participants.

 

M. Devraj, Principal Secretary of the Vocational Education and Skill Development Department, Uttar Pradesh, expressed optimism about the initiative's contribution to the state's economic development. He highlighted the goal of creating a skilled workforce to meet the diverse needs of various industries, aligning with Uttar Pradesh's ambition to become a trillion-dollar economy.
