Debt-ridden airline SpiceJet announced on Friday that it has cleared all its Goods and Services Tax (GST) dues.
The airline, which recently raised Rs 3,000 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), had outstanding GST liabilities of over Rs 145 crore.
In a statement, the carrier confirmed that all GST dues had been settled. According to its preliminary placement document for the Rs 3,000 crore fundraising, SpiceJet owed Rs 145.1 crore in GST as of 15 September.
Following the capital infusion, the airline also cleared salary arrears for its employees for July and August, as well as part of the pending June salaries.
Shares of SpiceJet rose by approximately 1 per cent to Rs 62.39 in morning trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
