Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated the commencement of PNG (Piped Natural Gas) facilities in 41 villages and various development projects in 178 villages under the 'Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan'. Accompanying him were Union Minister for Housing & Urban Development and Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, and V K Saxena, Lt Governor of Delhi.
During his address, Amit Shah highlighted the significance of the day for rural Delhi, noting the introduction of piped gas to 41 villages and the initiation of development projects across 178 villages.
He underscored the underutilization of funds allocated for rural infrastructure and living standard improvements, emphasizing the commitment to leveraging resources for rural development.
Shah lauded Prime Minister Modi's transformative governance over the past decade, citing initiatives such as the provision of LPG cylinders to 13 crore mothers, piped gas to one crore households, tap water to 14 crore homes, and the construction of over 3 crore houses. He emphasized the government's focus on bridging the urban-rural divide, citing measures from agriculture reforms to advancements in technology and energy sustainability.
Reflecting on the government's achievements, Shah pointed to initiatives like the abolition of Triple Talaq and the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), asserting that Modi's leadership has instilled a sense of optimism and confidence in the nation. He outlined the government's vision for a fully developed and self-reliant India by 2047, emphasizing energy security and ease of mobility through initiatives like CNG buses, metro rail, and solar energy schemes.
Under the 'Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan', development projects worth Rs 383 crore were launched, focusing on infrastructure enhancements, environmental sustainability, and community facilities.
These projects include the construction of roads, ponds, drainage systems, sewage treatment plants, drinking water facilities, rainwater harvesting provisions, parks, playgrounds, and rural libraries, among others.
