JP Morgan CEO praises Modi, says need a leader like that in the US

In an endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance, Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co., lauded Modi's leadership style, describing it as "unbelievable" and emphasizing the need for similar leadership in the United States.

In an endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance, Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co., lauded Modi's leadership style, describing it as "unbelievable" and emphasizing the need for similar leadership in the United States.

 

Dimon's remarks came during an event organized by the Economic Club of New York, where he commended the Indian Prime Minister for his resolute approach in tackling challenges head-on.

 

"Prime Minister Modi is doing an unbelievable job in India," Dimon stated, emphasizing the Prime Minister's resilience in breaking traditional bureaucratic systems and implementing significant reforms. "We need a leader like that here in the United States too," he added.

 

Dimon praised Modi's efforts in transforming sectors such as education and infrastructure.

 

"India has an unbelievable education system and infrastructure," he remarked.

 

Dimon also lauded India's indirect tax regime, attributing it to the elimination of corruption and the upliftment of millions from poverty. "He's taken 400 million people out of poverty," Dimon said.

 

Expressing concerns about the challenges facing the US economy, Dimon cautioned against rising national debt, inflation, and geopolitical tensions.

 

He advocated for a more harmonious relationship between lenders and regulators, calling for practitioners to engage more closely with the government.

 

Despite speculation surrounding his potential role in senior economic positions within the US government, Dimon said that, "I want to help my country," He signalled his desire to contribute positively to the nation's economic well-being.
