The initiative is part of a strategic plan to implement targeted policies aimed at alleviating agricultral producitvity and incomes.
The move comes after efforts to implement the farm laws, which failed miserably.
The groundwork is underway at NITI Ayog and Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer's welfare, showcasing a collaborative effort at top level of policmaking.
A senior government official stated, " NITI Ayog is spearheading the development of indices spanning the agriculture and rural domains", he further added, that these efforts are intended to monitor the progress of exisiting schemes and evaluate flagship programs, adjusting strategies whenever necessary.
The objective however, is clear- to foster a sustainable food system while transitioning towards natural farming. The plan aims for a substantial increase in farm income, rippling through an affrimative action through rural economy by stimulating demand and consumption, as underlined by the official.
