Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, delivered the inaugural address at the curtain-raising ceremony of "Startup Mahakumbh."

 

The pioneering event, organized by ASSOCHAM and NASSCOM, is set to take place from March 18-20, attracting aspiring entrepreneurs, seasoned professionals, investors, and industry experts from across the country.

 

Goyal emphasized the significance of Startup Mahakumbh as a platform where innovation meets investment, and collaboration fosters groundbreaking ideas. He said, "As various participants go through the 3 day event,  one may be able to engage with the other and create small sub ecosystems, partnerships, supporting each others ideas, some may even learn from each other's experiences, success stories and of course tribulations"

 

"Our hope is from across the country that we should try and get students who have a bent of mind towards entrepreneurship, innovation and towards spirit of inquiry. If any of the student needs help we can support them to come to Delhi as well", Goyal added.

 

He highlighted the transformative potential of startups in driving India's journey towards a $35 trillion economy by 2047, coinciding with the centenary celebrations of India's independence.

 

Goyal expressed optimism about the role of startups as the backbone of "New India," echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of leveraging the entrepreneurial spirit to propel the nation forward. He emphasized the need for successful startups to seize the moment and capitalize on the opportunities presented by India's burgeoning startup ecosystem.

 

Throughout his address, Goyal highlighted the importance of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship in nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs.

 

Goyal also commended the involvement of ASSOCHAM and NASSCOM in making the event a grand success, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping India's startup ecosystem. He reiterated the government's commitment to supporting and empowering startups, citing the Startup India initiative launched in January 2016 as a testament to India's emergence as a global leader in entrepreneurship.

 

 Goyal also emphasized that Startup Mahakumbh would become an annual event, serving as a platform to showcase success stories, innovations, and the revolutionary impact of the Startup India initiative on the country's youth.

 

He lauded the resilience and determination of Indian startups, attributing their success to the collective strength and spirit of innovation driving the nation forward.

 

"Startup India was launched in the year 2016 and since then it has offered to young minds in the country, it is also a showcase to the world that India has emerged today as a global leader. It is for no reason other than the strength of all you before me", concluded the Minister.
