Union finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman delivered keynote address at seminar on ‘Gift City'- An aspiration of Modern India’ in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
“GIFT City will become the gateway for India’s vision to become developed nation by 2047” said the Union minister at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat global summit.
Sitharaman on Wednesday expressed deep confidence that India will be the third-largest economy in the world with a gross domestic product (GDP)of over $5 trillion by 2027-28.
During the ‘Amritkal’, which will mark 100 years of India’s independence in 2047, emphasis is being given to sunrise industries, the minister asserted.
She further stressed that the people of India have met with the challenges post Covid and recovery is on a strong footing, she said, adding, that Gujarat will be one of the engine of growth in India’s march to become a developed economy by 2047.
The minister further said India is on track to becoming an in-house producer of semiconductor and electric vehicle adoption is happening in a big way.
All of these are outcomes of the FDI policy being pursued by the government.
