A high-profile delegation from the United States is gearing up for a significant visit to India later this month, with the aim of tapping into the vast opportunities within the country's burgeoning agribusiness sector.

The mission is set to enhance trade relations and introduce an array of American products to India's expanding middle-class market.

Alexis Taylor, the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs, highlighted India's pivotal role as a key market for US agribusinesses. "With India ranking as the fifth-largest economy globally and witnessing a surge in household food purchases, it emerges as an attractive destination for US exporters seeking to capitalize on this growing demand", he remarked.

Led by Taylor, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) will undertake a trade mission scheduled from April 22 to 25 in Delhi.

Taylor said, "The familiarity of Indian consumers with American food products and their increasing purchasing power presents a prime opportunity for US producers to enter and expand within the Indian market"

The mission will comprise targeted business meetings, site visits, and engagements aimed to strenghten new trade connections and existing partnerships.

Participants will have the opportunity to observe US products in the Indian marketplace, identify emerging consumer food trends, and receive comprehensive market briefings from USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service and industry experts.
