Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP-led Centre of orchestrating the arrests of opposition leaders to divert public attention following revelations of alleged financial malpractice through electoral bonds.

Yadav emphasised that the BJP resorted to such tactics after being exposed for purportedly extorting money through electoral bonds misusing government agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Yadav asserted that the BJP's purported extortion tactics, a first in the country's history, were carried out by instilling fear. He claimed that the ruling party coerced donations from numerous companies under the guise of electoral bonds.

According to Yadav, when these alleged extortion methods were uncovered, the BJP government resorted to arresting opposition leaders as a diversionary tactic.

"The BJP government has discovered new ways of corruption and loot," Yadav stated, highlighting his concerns over the BJP's purported misuse of power.

Addressing the media, the SP chief expressed confidence in the judiciary and emphasised that truth would prevail.

He condemned the BJP government's actions, alleging that false cases had been fabricated against opposition leaders such as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Jharkhand's Hemant Soren, SP's Mohammad Azam Khan, his family members, and MLA Irfan Solanki.

Yadav denounced the recent incident of Mukhtar Ansari's death, suggesting foul play. Ansari, a former mafia don turned politician, died of a heart attack in Banda jail, with his family alleging poisoning. Yadav highlighted this as another example of the BJP's purported malfeasance, citing instances of violence in jails and police stations.

The SP leader indicated that voters would hold the BJP accountable for such incidents in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He expressed confidence that people would vote against the BJP, denouncing what he described as injustice and false accusations orchestrated by the ruling party.

Responding to inquiries regarding the candidate declaration for the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat, Yadav disclosed that announcements would be made during the auspicious Navratri period, spanning from April 8 to April 17.

The statements by Akhilesh Yadav shed light on the ongoing political dynamics, with the opposition alleging misconduct by the ruling party and gearing up for the upcoming elections.

This article provides insight into the allegations made by Akhilesh Yadav against the BJP-led Centre, highlighting the contentious issues surrounding electoral bonds and the arrests of opposition leaders.
