The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its election manifesto, named ‘Sankalp Patra’, on Sunday.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, heading the manifesto committee, declared, “We have fulfilled all our pledges. There is complete alignment between our words and deeds.” He cited the abrogation of Article 370 and the inauguration of the Ram temple as key examples.
The manifesto launch saw the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief J.P. Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and other party leaders.
BJP chief Nadda remarked, “Today marks the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar, and we pay homage to him. We all recognize his advocacy for social justice. Following his principles, the BJP has always championed social justice.”
In compiling the manifesto, the BJP collected over 1.5 million suggestions, including 400,000 from the NaMo app and 1.1 million submitted via videos. The party has promised free "ration, water, gas connection and electricity" for the next five years to poor people.
