JP Nadda, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), convened a late-night meeting with party leaders at his residence on Monday to assess the voter turnout in the initial phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting also delved into strategies aimed at enhancing voter participation and engaging party leaders effectively in the upcoming phases of the polls.
During the meeting, Nadda scrutinised the turnout data from the first phase of voting and sought to identify the factors contributing to the subdued enthusiasm among key party leaders.
Emphasising the importance of increased voter participation, he urged party leaders to intensify efforts in mobilising voters. They were tasked with galvanising local leaders and grassroots workers, known as Panna Pramukhs, and maintaining regular communication with them.
Furthermore, party leaders were directed to disseminate information about the accomplishments of the Modi government to the public, amplifying awareness about the administration's achievements.
The meeting witnessed the presence of prominent figures such as Home Minister Amit Shah, the party's General Secretary, BL Santosh, as well as ministers Sunil Bansal, Vinod Tawde, Charun Chugh, and Dushyant Gautam.
In a separate political engagement, JP Nadda addressed a rally in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, as part of the BJP's ongoing election campaign for the Lok Sabha polls. In his address, he lauded the transformative leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting the paradigm shift in Indian politics under his stewardship.
Nadda remarked that Modi's leadership has ushered in a new era in Indian politics, redefining its culture and ethos. He reminisced about the prevalent sense of despair a decade ago and contrasted it with the prevailing optimism and dynamism witnessed today.
Nadda underscored the significance of the public's decision in the 2019 elections, which led to the formation of a stable government, enabling landmark decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The rally served as a platform for Nadda to reiterate the BJP's commitment to governance and development under Modi's leadership, emphasising the transformative journey embarked upon by the nation under the BJP-led government.
