Based on recent trends in vote counting, the NDA did not seem to be able to secure 45 or more of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, as was its stated goal.

According to the most recent trends, the BJP was leading in 12 seats, its partners Shiv Sena in 7, and the NCP in 1.

With a lead in 27 seats, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, which is made up of the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), appeared to be doing rather well.

In the Sangli seat, an independent congress candidate was ahead.

As the vote counting process moved on, starting at 8 am on Tuesday, the Congress was leading in 11 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) was leading in 9, and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) was ahead in 7 seats.

The BJP secured 23 seats in the 2019 Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections, while its erstwhile ally Shiv Sena (undivided) secured 18 seats. The Congress was only able to secure one seat, whereas the then-undivided NCP had secured four constituencies.

This time, the BJP-led NDA has set a lofty goal for itself: winning more than 45 Maharashtra seats.

In Maharashtra, a total of 35 MPs who won in 2019 were renominated for the 2024 elections. However, 19 of these MPs are now trailing. The BJP is worst-hit, with 12 of its 17 renominated MPs trailing. The Shiv Sena had renominated eight MPs, of which 5 are trailing.
