The curtains have come down on the intense campaign trail for the seventh and final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, as leaders from various political spectrums wrapped up their rallies in a last-minute bid to woo voters.

Concluding on Thursday, May 30, the campaigning for the final leg saw leaders of prominent political parties rallying vigorously to make their last pitch to the electorate.

Scheduled for June 1, voting will take place in 57 parliamentary constituencies spread across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. With a total of 904 candidates in the fray, this phase holds significant importance in shaping the political landscape.

Apart from the parliamentary seats, 42 Assembly constituencies in Odisha are also set to go to polls concurrently. The much-awaited verdict will be unveiled on June 4, following the meticulous counting process.

In the heat of the campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered scathing remarks against the opposition, accusing them of engaging in vote bank politics akin to 'mujra'.

Addressing gatherings in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, he lambasted the IN.D.I.A bloc, comprising the Samajwadi Party and Congress, alleging their collusion with external forces and advocating for 'vote-jihad'.

The political discourse further intensified in West Bengal, where Modi took aim at the Trinamool Congress government, accusing it of undermining the rights of OBC youths and indulging in appeasement politics.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi countered Modi's rhetoric, urging him to uphold the dignity of the Prime Minister's office and refrain from derogatory remarks.

As the election fervor reached its zenith, Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM condemned Modi's remarks and pledged to thwart his re-election bid.

Amidst the political maneuvering, the Congress lodged a complaint with the Election Commission over Modi's scheduled meditation session in Kanyakumari, citing potential violations of the Model Code of Conduct.

With the stage set for the final showdown at the ballot box, the electorate holds the reins to decide the destiny of the nation. As the countdown begins, all eyes are on the outcome that will shape the future course of Indian politics.
