Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Cheif Prem Singh Tamang announced on Wednesday that he will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Sikkim for a second term on June 9.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, replicating the grand event held five years ago.
Addressing the media, Tamang expressed his gratitude to the people of Sikkim for their overwhelming support, which secured SKM's sweeping victory in the assembly elections.
SKM grabbed a toal of 31 of the 32 assembly seats, alongside winning the lone Lok Sabha seat for the state.
Tamang attributed this triumph to the relentless dedication and hard work of SKM leaders and cadres.
"The swearing-in ceremony of the new council of ministers will be a significant event, with a large turnout expected from across Sikkim," he stated.
The SKM leader also confirmed that their MP, Indra Hang Subba, will continue to support the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre, reinforcing their political alliance.
As preparations for the swearing-in are underway, Gangtok is gearing up for a grand celebration, marking the continuation of Tamang's leadership in Sikkim's political landscape.
