On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the BJP's "400-paar" slogan, asserting that the people of the nation have adopted the slogan "400-haar," indicating a rejection of the ruling party's claims.

He criticised the BJP for allegedly failing to fulfil promises made to various segments of society, particularly farmers and the poor, and accused the government of dishonesty on multiple fronts.

"Where the BJP is giving the slogan of '400-paar', the people of the country are giving the slogan of '400-haar'. They have not kept the promises made to the people, like the ones made to the farmers and the poor. This government is on its way out as it speaks lies on every issue. The PDA family is going to defeat it," he said.

"Inflation is at its height; the promises made to the farmers of doubling their income and also to the poor all have been betrayed, and they will not forget it. Youth will never forget the BJP for snatching their growth and future by bringing a scheme like "Agniveer". They do not want to give jobs, and so purposely leaked examination papers," Yadav alleged.

Yadav highlighted concerns regarding inflation, the unfulfilled pledge to double farmers' income, and the adverse impact of schemes like "Agniveer" on youth employment opportunities. He criticised the BJP-led state government over its handling of the tragic double murder in Budaun, emphasising the need for accountability and efficient police work.

Regarding recent incidents, Yadav criticised the government for its reactive rather than proactive approach, suggesting that political motives overshadow efforts to address underlying issues. He expressed scepticism about electoral bonds, describing them as a form of extortion rather than genuine donations.

On the subject of Congress candidates for upcoming elections, Yadav deemed it an internal matter for the Congress party, affirming his party's commitment to supporting Congress candidates honestly. The Samajwadi Party has allocated 17 seats to the Congress and plans to contest the remaining 63 seats independently or with other allies, with further candidate announcements forthcoming.
