Swati Maliwal arrived at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, late on Thursday night following the filing of an FIR by the police. The FIR was based on her formal complaint against a close aide of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

There are indications that the AAP Rajya Sabha MP may undergo a medical checkup at AIIMS.

The Delhi police took action by filing an FIR in connection with the alleged assault, naming the Delhi CM’s Personal Assistant, Bibhav Kumar. The FIR was registered under various IPC sections, including assault, criminal intimidation, and acts intended to insult or outrage modesty.

In her complaint, Maliwal alleged that she was physically assaulted by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s PA, Bibhav Kumar, including being slapped, hit on the stomach, and kicked.

During her statement to the police, Swati Maliwal reportedly became emotional and demanded strict action in the case.

After lodging the complaint, Maliwal took to social media to request the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not to politicise the incident. She described the ordeal as "very bad" and expressed hope for appropriate action. She also thanked those who supported her and addressed those who attempted to discredit her, wishing them well.

Efforts are underway by the Special Cell and Crime Branch teams of the Delhi Police to arrest the accused. Bibhav Kumar has been summoned by the National Commission for Women (NCW) to appear on May 17 in connection with the alleged assault.

The BJP criticised the AAP for not taking action against Bibhav Kumar despite assurances from party MP Sanjay Singh. They shared a photo of Bibhav with Arvind Kejriwal at the Lucknow airport, questioning the AAP's inaction.
