A recent video uploaded by Indian Administrative Service officer, Supriya Sahu is going viral which showcases one-of-a-kind polling booths in Tamil Nadu’s Tirupathur District.
It is being identified as ‘green-polling booths where presence of bamboo, coconut and natural shade makes the polling station eco-friendly and culturally relevant.
This innovative booth is the result of a collaboration between the District Collector and Tamil Nadu Climate Change Mission volunteers with an aim to highlight the state’s commitment to sustainability.
A show of local tradition, banana and palm leaves provide a warm welcome, making the voting experience slightly different.
In total, nearly 10 such sustainable booths were made using natural materials for shade and decoration which shows environmental consciousness.
