The festival of democracy, a celebration of our nation's pride, is underway as Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar ensures smooth polling in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, urging citizens to participate wholeheartedly.
Rajiv Kumar also emphasised the meticulous preparations made for today's elections, ensuring polling booths are adorned with amenities and stringent security measures are in place.
"There is no possibility of violence at any booth," Kumar assured, encouraging voters to exercise their democratic right without hesitation. He reiterated that voting is not just a duty but a privilege, urging citizens to embrace their role in shaping the nation's future.
With facilities like drinking water and toilets readily available at polling booths, Kumar stressed the importance of maximum voter turnout. "Everyone must come to vote today," he emphasised, highlighting the comprehensive security arrangements in place to safeguard the polling process.
Ahead of the second phase, the Election Commission convened meetings with various agencies, including the India Meteorological Department and the National Disaster Management Authority, to assess weather conditions and ensure smooth conduct.
Kumar highlighted the favourable weather forecast by the IMD for the second phase, noting that recent rains have mitigated the impact of heat. He urged voters, regardless of age or gender, to fulfil their role as ambassadors of democracy by participating in large numbers.
As voting commences for 88 seats across 13 states and UTs, Kumar's appeal resonates, emphasising the significance of every citizen's vote. From Assam to Uttar Pradesh, citizens are urged to exercise their franchise and contribute to the democratic process.
With the results slated for June 4, the journey towards shaping the nation's destiny begins today, as citizens cast their votes with the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
