As many as 6,589 polling parties trekked the tough terrain of Himachal Pradesh to reach polling stations on Thursday.
At some remote places, they trekked for 12-15 kilometres.
A spokesperson of the State Election Department said that two days prior to the polls, 1,617 polling parties in Kangra, 1,196 in district Mandi, 967 in district Shimla, and 624 polling parties in Chamba District have travelled to their polling stations.
Apart from this 582 polling parties in Solan, 571 in district Kullu, 409 in Bilaspur, and 403 polling parties in Sirmour headed toward their place of duty amidst security.
In districts Lahaul & Spiti, a total of 92 as a whole, and in Kinnaur, all 128 polling parties have left for their destinations, respectively.
On the last day before polls i.e. 31st May, 1,403 polling parties will move towards their polling stations.
The spokesperson said that in the Mehla block of Chamba district falling under the Mandi Parliamentary constituency, the polling party walked around 15 Kilometers to reach their destination ‘Aehlaumi’ polling booth.
Similarly, the parties have also headed towards the farthest polling booth on foot for 11 kms to reach ‘Pandaar’ in Dodra-Kwar and ‘Shaakti’ polling booth in Great Himalayan National Park, Kullu.
Apart From this, the polling parties moved 13 kilometers on foot to the ‘Chakki’ Polling Station in the Bhattiyat assembly segment falling under the Kangra Parliamentary Constituency.
The EVMs were lifted in Choppers with the entire paraphernalia for Bara Banghal along with the teams deputed.
