Debunking the expectations of her admirers, Kim Cattrall confirms her departure from the third season of ‘And Just Like That’ and says, “ I am not returning” replying to a post on X.
Refuting the reports on her revival as the iconic Samantha Jones in the offshoot of Sex and the City, Cattrall, while replying to a thread on X (earlier known as Twitter) that reads, “#Andjustlikethat- It looks like #Kim Cattrall (aka Samantha Jones) will be back For ‘And Just Like that’ season 3 after all.”
Rebuking the thread, Cattrall shared the post, replying, “Aw, that is so kind, but I am not.”
‘And Just Like That’, premiered on HBO Max on December 9, 2021. Since then, it has received mixed reviews by critics claiming it is “unnecessary and inferior to Sex and the City.”
The series, directed by Michael Patrick King, is a comedy-drama in which Samantha Jones, aka Kim Cattrall, plays the captivating role of a femme fatale, sexually liberated woman.
The series showcased the lives of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York Goldenblatt as they navigated love and friendship in their 50s. The second season of the show was released last year.
The series is set to highlight the lives of four girls in the glimmer and glint of New York City a decade later, in 2010, Sex and the City 2.
It covers an array of changes that transitioned from the lives they had in their 30s to the lives they have now in their 50s.
Cattrall surprised her fans with a small cameo in the second season of ‘And Just Like That’, but now she is leaving their high hopes for her revival parched with her rebuttal. Back then, she refused to feature again as Samantha for the third part of the film series Sex and the City.
