Actor Shah Rukh Khan led the ranking of celebrity taxpayers for the 2023-24 fiscal year by paying ₹92 crore in advance taxes, according to Fortune India Magazine.
Following him is Tamil actor 'Thalapathy' Vijay in second place, with Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan securing the third and fourth positions, respectively.
Among cricketers, Virat Kohli emerged as the highest taxpayer, contributing ₹66 crore in advance tax for the same fiscal year.
"Shah Rukh Khan tops the list of celebrity taxpayers in FY24 while Tamil superstar 'Thalapathy' Vijay moves ahead of the likes of Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Virat Kohli to emerge second (Advance Tax payment, FY24)," Fortune India said.
The recent report by Fortune India revealed that 'Thalapathy' Vijay deposited an advance tax of ₹80 crore, followed by Salman Khan with ₹75 crore and Amitabh Bachchan with ₹71 crore.
Several other renowned personalities from the film and entertainment industry are also featured on the prestigious list. This included Ajay Devgn with ₹42 crore, Ranbir Kapoor with ₹36 crore, Hrithik Roshan with ₹28 crore, Kapil Sharma with ₹26 crore, Kareena Kapoor with ₹20 crore, and Shahid Kapoor with ₹14 crore.
Notably, both Mohan Lal and Allu Arjun paid advance taxes of ₹14 crore each, while Kiara Advani paid ₹12 crore. Additionally, both Katrina Kaif and Pankaj Tripathi contributed ₹11 crore in advance tax, and Aamir Khan shelled out ₹10 crore in FY24.
Among the cricketers, MS Dhoni's advance tax amounted to ₹38 crore, whereas cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly paid ₹28 crore and ₹23 crore, respectively.
Hardik Pandya paid ₹13 crore, while Rishabh Pant paid ₹10 crore in taxes.
