Who gets what? Sunjay Kapur’s will splits family

The children claim that the will is being withheld from them, and via their mother, Karisma, they said that they were not made aware of the will until 11 weeks after their father’s demise. This made them believe that the bill was forged. On the other hand, as stated by Priya’s lawyers, the children have already received  assets worth Rs 1,900 crore.

Delhi Court heard the will matter of Sunjay Kapur (ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor) on Wednesday. Sunjay’s children, Samaira and Kiaan Kapur, implicated their stepmother, Priya Sachdev, in making up papers to take away their fortune. Both sides argued about the veracity of the will. According to reports, Priya Sachdev is the sole heir to the property under the will.

“When I set up the will, my lady will be entitled to examine if it is suspicious in nature. All this crying and weeping that is going on, just six days before the suit, the plaintiffs received Rs 1,900 crore from the trust. What more do they want? It’s not as if these people are left on the streets,” said Rajiv Nayar, the lawyer, who then added that Priya is fine with sharing the will if the children agree to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

The court then asked, saying, “I don’t know why you should not part with the copy of the will to the children. Of course, there can be an NDA. We can constitute a confidentiality club as well. We do this in IP matters routinely.”

The lawyer then admitted that the will has not yet been registered and assured the Court that it would be submitted in a sealed envelope on the specified date.

Mother of Sunjay Kapur, Rani Kapur’s lawyer, cited in the court, “Today, I have nothing. I have written at least 15 emails asking about the will, what are the documents? Not a word has been shared. I have been told that my emails have been compromised. There is something incredibly unholy. ₹10,000 crore worth of assets should have been mine. I am 80-year-old. All gone. I am nowhere. Ms Sachdeva comes in, within three months of her getting married, everything goes?”

“My son today leaves me on the road, with not a roof on my head?” she said.

“We are all in shock at how the kids are being cut off. The love he had for his children is beyond words. The truth will come out. We were told there is no will: Mandhira Kapur, Sunjay Kapur's sister,” said in conversation with a media outlet.
