71-year-old Khan has been incarcerated in Adiala Jail for the past year. In a post from jail on X, he slammed the present government for being intolerant to criticism and also berated the failing law-and-order situation in the country.

"The ISI controls all administrative matters related to my imprisonment. I'm saying it again: if anything happens to me, the Army Chief and DG ISI will be responsible," is written in the post by Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

Khan's remarks have come two days after the government hinted his trial in cases related to May 9 violence may be shifted to military courts.
