Iraqi TikTok star Ghufran Sawadi, also known as Umm Fahad, was shot dead outside her home in Iraqi Capital Baghdad, international media reports have said.
Umm Fahad was killed in the Zayouna area east of Baghdad.
Footage from a surveillance video camera showed a motorcyclist appearing behind her car, parking his vehicle at a distance, walking up to the victim and shooting her.
CNN said a Baghdad police source confirmed the authenticity of the video.
A specialised team was being set up to investigate why Umm Fahad had been killed, the country’s Interior Minister announced on Friday.
The TikTok star had a huge fan following and often shared videos and films in which she could be seen dancing to music.
She had also been sentenced to six months in jail for “the crime” of producing and uploading films and videos with “obscene and indecent language” that violated “public decency and morals.”
