External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in New Delhi, part of a bilateral engagement during Kuleba's two-day visit to India.
The meeting, held at Hyderabad House, aimed at fostering discussions on various matters of mutual interest. Jaishankar expressed anticipation for the talks, highlighting the importance of their discussions.
Kuleba's visit is significant amidst efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict, ongoing for over two years. During his visit, Kuleba emphasised reinvigorating Ukrainian-Indian cooperation, building on dialogues between Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Modi, with specific attention to the proposed Peace Formula. The Peace Formula, proposed by Zelenskyy in 2022, outlines principles for achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
In response to queries about Kuleba's visit, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the agenda, which includes a bilateral engagement covering various bilateral issues and a review of the Inter-governmental Commission.
The leaders will also discuss regional and global issues of common concern. India's position emphasises a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine-Russia conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
The visit underscores the importance of diplomatic engagements in addressing global conflicts and fostering international cooperation. Both India and Ukraine seek to strengthen their ties and explore avenues for collaboration in diverse fields.
