Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said on Saturday that Imran Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has never stood in the way of PML-N nominee Shehbaz Sharif's rise to the top job.

Bilawal added that Imran's party never approached any political party, including the PPP, about forming a government at the center, as per media reports.

Bilawal said the PTI, under Imran Khan, has repeatedly shunned negotiations with other political groupings, restricting prospective alliances.

"PTI never tried to block Shehbaz's path to premiership; the PTI founder may have decided not to fight against Shehbaz," said Bilawal at a press conference in Karachi.

The PPP Chairman encouraged the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) to be open about their capacity to form a government at the center, implying that the SIC lacked the required numbers.

Bilawal underlined that the PTI has not opened conversations with other political parties, including the PPP, for votes, underscoring the PTI's habit of isolation in political engagement.

The leader then also attacked Imran Khan's PTI for putting personal gain over national goals, in reference to their conduct throughout the coalition-building process.

He expressed worry over Imran Khan's letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) attempting to stop financial help to Pakistan due to suspected cheating, minimizing its relevance while claiming that it would reveal the PTI's actual intentions to the people.

Speaking about the ongoing protests in Sindh over suspected election fraud, Bilawal stated that political opponents could not blackmail the PPP with unfounded charges.

He challenged protesting parties to offer compelling evidence and seek judicial authorities to resolve their worries about electoral integrity.

Bilawal spoke on the deal achieved between the PPP and the PML-N to form a government at the Centre, highlighting a power-sharing mechanism that both parties agreed on after days of negotiations.

He said that the PPP and PML-N had achieved the needed number to form a coalition government, with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif set to become Prime Minister once more.
